NEED HELP WITH A BAT?
Bats sometimes get themselves into life threatening predicaments - getting stuck in obscure places, becoming grounded or coming up against the neighbourhood cat. If you find a bat please call one of the Essex Bat Group Ambulance Drivers for immediate help and advice.
Sometimes advice has been given to hold on to the bat and try releasing it at night - if the bat is injured or compromised - this advice could cause its death or certainly reduce its chance of survival. Here in Essex we respond immediately and would rather collect the bat, assess it and deal with any problems and then release it - giving it the optimum chance of survival.
So if you do find one - please don't delay in calling us for advice.

A considerable number of Bats get into difficulties each year. Many need the help of humans to nurse them back to health again.
